allconferenceLatrell Giles and James Britten were not affected by the Leo football team,’s “promotion” to the Chicago Catholic League White Division.
Giles, the Lions’ senior quarterback, and Britten, a senior defensive end, were selected to the CCL Red Division All-Conference team last season as Leo won the conference title for the fourth time in five years. That success prompted an upgrade to the White Division, where the competition was tougher, but Giles and Britten repeated as first-team all-conference selections.
Britten was also chosen as Defensive Player of the Year for the White Division.
He and Giles were joined on the all-conference first team by senior wide receiver Saheed Adewole, senior center Jabari Jackson and senior defensive back Zuriel Cook.
Senior running back Joe Shorter, senior guard Raheem Williams and and junior linebacker Leroy Henry were second-team selections. The Lions finished 4-5 and missed the IHSA playoffs by one game.
