Harold Blackmon ‘96 won the 2014 Tony Lawless Award as Coach of the Year for football in the White Division of the Chicago Catholic League. Blackmon, in his second year at St. Laurence, guided the Vikings to a 5-4 record, a share of the White Division title and a berth in the IHSA Class 5-A state playoffs. A member of the Leo High School Hall of Fame, Blackmon was a football, basketball and track star at Leo. He later became an All-Big Ten defensive back at Northwestern and played in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks.
