The Leo Lions made a case for themselves as contenders for the Catholic League basketball championship with a 64-58 victory over De La Salle at Leo on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

The tall, talented Meteors have three players with Division I scholarships on their roster and are viewed as a possible state contender. But with Darias Oliver scoring 16 points in  a remarkable first quarter, the Lions jumped out to an early 23-13 lead, stretched it to 41-26 at halftime and held off several Meteor runs for their fourth victory in five games.
