Admissions Process
Elementary School Students and Incoming 8th Graders
The process to become a Leo Man begins with learning about Leo: Sign up for more information (leohighschool.org/become-a-leo-man), attend an open house or schedule your shadow day (kmcnair@leohighschool.org). Learn about Leo’s almost 100 years of educating young men.
Open houses happen each month and can be found on our school calendar. You can also contact Kevin McNair at kmcnair@leohighschool.org to schedule a shadow day or to find out more.
All incoming freshman are required to take the Placement Exam.The first exam is usually the first Saturday in December. Registration for the entrance exam opens in November each year.
Acceptances are mailed in early January and your journey begins!
Any incoming freshman who did not test at Leo High School must be interviewed before admission is granted. On the day of the interview you MUST HAVE a copy of the academic transcript, birth certificate, and a disciplinary report from your son’s school. After your interview with Mr. McNair, you will be scheduled to interview with Principal Rawls at his next available appointment.

Shadow Days are available throughout the school year, every day that school is in session. Seventh and eighth-graders are welcome to shadow a Leo student and experience classroom activities and student-teacher interaction.
Transfer Students
Students interested in transferring to Leo Catholic High School should contact our school’s Admissions Office at 773-224-9600 or email our Admission Director Kevin McNair.
Transfer admission is based on grades, a letter of recommendation and discipline reports from previous school(s).
A prospective student and his parent(s) will be interviewed before admission is granted. On the day of the interview you MUST HAVE a copy of the academic transcript, birth certificate, a letter of recommendation, 504 or IEP (if applicable) and a disciplinary report from your son’s school. After your interview with Mr.McNair, you will be scheduled to interview with Principal Rawls at his next available appointment.
