An encouraging bounce-back season for the Leo baseball team ended in disappointment when the Lions dropped a 7-6 decision to North Shore Country Day in the second round of the IHSA Class 1-A Regional in Winnetka on Friday, June 4.

Leo took a 6-5 lead into the bottom of the sixth, when the hosts pushed across two runs. The Lions had the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position in the top of the seventh, but could not get either across and wound up short by a run.

Still, seven victories for a team without a senior is the most for Leo in five years. And with several new recruits coming aboard to improve the depth of a strong holdover squad, the outlook is bright for Leo baseball.
