Senior Terrence Lee Jr. and juniors Aamir Holmes and Damari Owens represented Leo at a meeting of the Big Shoulders Fund Auxiliary Board at the Jenner & Block law firm downtown on Wednesday, May 3.
The Big Shoulders Fund is a Chicago non-profit that provides financial assistance and other types of support to Catholic schools in inner-city neighborhoods. Leo is proud of its relationship with Big Shoulders and tries to reciprocate whenever BSF requests student participation at an event.
The Auxiliary Board consists of younger BSF volunteers who provide the labor for Lend a Shoulder days and other give-back events Big Shoulders stages to spruce up member schools and help them with physical-plant improvements and other maintenance needs.
Terrence, Aamir and Damari discussed the benefits they are deriving from receiving a Catholic education at Leo and thanked BSF and the Auxiliary Board volunteers for their efforts in making a Catholic education more attainable.
